How much of my membership contribution is tax deductible?
If you don’t request an incentive or thank you gift, the full amount of your contribution goes directly to Michigan Radio and your entire contribution is tax deductible. If you do request an incentive, the portion of your contribution less the fair market value of the incentive is tax deductible.
When will I get confirmation of my gift or tax receipt?
Tax receipts for gifts to Michigan Radio are issued by the University of Michigan. If we have a valid email address on record, your receipt(s) will be delivered via email – otherwise by standard US Mail. The subject line will be Your Official University of Michigan Gift Receipt [xxxxxx].
One-time gifts are receipted individually within two weeks of the gift being made. Sustainer gifts (monthly plan gifts) are receipted one time on a consolidated statement delivered in January of the following year.
All tax receipts come from the University of Michigan, but your gift is directed to Michigan Radio.
I recently renewed my Michigan Radio membership, but I just received a renewal notice. Why?
If you receive a reminder shortly after renewing, your contribution and your reminder most likely crossed in the mail.
Why are you mailing me a renewal letter before my “Renew” month?
To assist you in budgeting for your gifts to Michigan Radio, we want to alert you in advance of your renewal date.
When you renew your membership before your renewal date, you will receive 12 additional months of membership added onto your current membership.

Why does Michigan Radio need to have membership drives?
On-air drives allow Michigan Radio to attract the largest number of new and renewing members in the most efficient and effective way possible.
Michigan Radio’s membership drive format is based on our own experiences, as well as the shared experiences of public broadcasters throughout the country.
Why hasn’t my incentive/thank-you gift arrived and how do I find out its status?
Generally, this process takes two to four weeks from the end of a membership drive, though many items arrive sooner. If you are concerned about the status of your gift, please contact us at email@example.com.

When is my sustaining gift charged?
If you use a credit or debit card, your monthly contribution will occur on roughly the same date each month that you made your initial gift. You do have the option of changing the day should you find it necessary. Please contact Member Services at (866-203-1136) or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
If we are directly debiting your checking account, that transaction will take place on the 10th of each month.
